It’s due to be a cold one this week with forecast of frost. After the freezing temperatures last week, I put in a request with SDCC for salt bins to be provided in Citywest, particularly around the schools as the footpath and cycle lanes were very dangerous.

SDCC have provided a salt bin in Carrigmore Estate (Carrigmore Elms) and in De Selby at the roundabout when coming in from Blessington Road.

Residents can use it to salt outside their homes and/or along the pathways. Myself & Eoin did grab a bucket and salted part of the pathway & cycle lane from Carrigmore towards CP Fóla as I did witness some students falling along here last week.

If the bin empties out over the next few days, please send me an email and I’ll arrange for them to be refilled.
