As a member of the Tallaght/Citywest Community Safety meeting, I have continued to raise the issues of the increased anti-social behaviour in and around Citywest & Fortunestown areas.

On 9th July, Inspector Duggan confirmed that on the back of representations made at this forum, they have appointed 2 new community Gardaí to the Citywest area. Garda Kevin Curran & Garda Ciaran Byrne will now work alongside Garda Dereck Craddock.

This is a significant step for our community. These extra resources allow Gardaí to facilitate the additional presence and patrols needed. It is fantastic to see that issues raised at the Safety forums are listened to and actions put in place to combat the rise in anti-social behaviour. With additional patrols and Garda clinics, hopefully we will see it having an impact within our community.
