Our promise to Carers:

• We will abolish the means test of the Carers Allowance over the next 5 years.
• In the short term, we will ensure more people qualify for the Carers Allowance by increasing the income disregard.
• We will ensure that carers who reach pension age are not penalised – so they can keep the Carers Allowance while drawing down the state pension.
